Pathway 2: District and Campus Leaders

Equips district and campus leaders with the knowledge of policy and best practices in mentoring to design and implement high-quality mentorship programs.

Who should participate in Pathway 2 Design Sessions?

Any district and campus leaders who support mentorship at their district and/or campus, including:

  • Mentorship Program Managers
  • District-level Leaders
  • Principals
  • Assistant Principals

What’s included in Pathway 2?

Participants will engage in 15-16 hours of competencies-aligned mentor program design sessions with an approved TMT provider in

  • Spring 2026
  • Summer 2026
  • Fall 2026
  • Spring 2027

Participants will develop competencies to:

  1. Develop a vision for a high-quality mentorship program.
  2. Provide appropriate release time for the mentorship program through scheduling
  3. Effectively recruit, select, and assign mentoring educators
  4. Plan for program sustainability and program scaling

How to Get Started

Registration is managed at the district level, so educators should coordinate with their district leadership to participate.
  • Step 1 Visit the Approved Training Provider Directory to locate certified trainers in your region
  • Step 2 Contact your approved Training Provider for training dates, pricing information, and to register
  • Step 3 Work with your district to complete registration and secure your spot in an upcoming training

Funding for the Texas Mentorship Training is available via the PREP Allotment. Districts may opt in to the PREP Programs via the LASO 4 application. Please visit the LASO 4 webpage for more information.

Supports district and campus leaders in developing high-quality, sustainable mentorship programs that support new teachers and their mentors.

Relevant Policies and Programs

Supports districts and EPPs in meeting training requirements for mentorship roles, including mentors, cooperating teachers, host teachers, and field supervisors. It also fulfills mentor training requirements for districts in the Mentor Program Allotment.
